Overall I had a great experience taking the class! I needed exactly two hour credits until I could graduate in December so I decided to take this coding class and the Digital Media Ethics class. I’m glad I did. Although this class was quick, it was very effective. I’m really glad I decided to take it because coding is something I’ve always wanted to learn. I got started with the FDOM class but this was my chance to brush back up on it. The online part went well and fast! Coding is definitely something that I learn better  when it is hands on and in person. But there was a lot to learn from the online portion. I enjoyed the forums and reading about some of the interactive websites that other students had come across.

After the two weeks it was then time for the in person workshop. This, of course, was the highlight of the course for me. If I’m being honest I was dreading this part, after all it was 7 hours on a Saturday. But I ended up really enjoying it. I got to learn a lot about the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The best and most rewarding part was building the quiz. It was so cool to see my work from all day actually be turned into something interactive.

I think that coding is such an important thing to know. I loved when you talked about with why Mass Communication majors are now needing to learn coding because it has become so relevant in our fields. I think it’s a great skill to have when filling out resumes and starting our careers. It gives you a leg up if you know it because it’s basically like another language.

I wish I could take your other classes to further my knowledge on coding but I’m glad I got this one in before I graduate in a few weeks. Great class, thank you!! I feel very proud of it of the quiz I created.
