The coding workshop course for me was an extremely bittersweet experience. It was sweet because it was short, and bitter because I regret not taking a Web Design class during my time at Texas State. The most important thing I learned on Saturday was how to build a basic website using HTML. Furthermore, I was introduced to JavaScript and the basics of CSS and how to apply them to coding. What I find the most interesting about coding was how detailed and precise everything must be. After all, “a computer’s dumb!” and we must tell it exactly what we want it to do!
The communications field is advancing in technology so it is without a doubt knowing basic coding skills will be beneficial. I plan to use my knowledge of coding in the future by helping me to build websites and manage interactivity of the web.
